Todai-ji Temple (¥600) — marvel at the Great South Gate and the 15-meter bronze Daibutsu inside the world's largest wooden building
Kasuga Grand Shrine (¥500 for treasure hall) — tree-shaded approach avenue and the famous lantern-hung corridors
Lunch in Nara — try kakinoha-zushi (persimmon leaf-wrapped sushi) or miwa-somen (thin white noodles) at a park-side restaurant
